Lynx Charge
The escalating concern for sustainable development and the aspiration to reside in a safe and hygienic environment pose a set of mounting challenges in the maintenance of urban infrastructure. As a result, RASCO have dedicated the last 30 years to crafting technology for urban infrastructure maintenance with a single objective – to create exceptional technology for promoting safer transportation and a more pristine environment.
There is no doubt about the imperative need to transition away from fossil fuel-powered equipment. Adopting a range of sustainable technologies, including electric vehicles, is crucial to achieving this goal. In the street sweeping industry, the primary obstacle has been ensuring that vehicles have sufficient operational capacity to clean throughout an entire shift without requiring a recharge. However, LYNX Charge has addressed this challenge in two significant ways. Firstly, it boasts one of the largest batteries in its class, which has been integrated without compromising the vehicle’s manoeuvrability or hopper capacity. Secondly, LYNX Charge utilizes power with maximum efficiency to ensure that every available watt is used.
LYNX Charge is equipped with a remarkable 72.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that can support operations for up to 8 hours. To facilitate rapid deployment, the onboard charger with a capacity of 22 kW can fully recharge the battery from 0% to 100% in just 4 hours. The primary electric motor can deliver a continuous power output of up to 55 kW to the drive system, and the drive inverter can function in either torque or speed control mode, depending on whether the sweeper is in transport or sweeping. Additionally, two other electric motors, each with their inverter, distribute power throughout the sweeper. The suction fan, driven by an 11.5 kW-motor, provides sufficient power to handle even the most challenging workloads.
