HARSH BECOMES A MAJOR SHEETING SUPPLIER TO MULTIPLE INDUSTRIES WITH THE PURCHASE OF I&M TARPAULINS

HARSH has significantly expanded its sheeting activities with the acquisition of York – based I&M Tarpaulins, itself a leader in supplying a wide range of standard and bespoke products to multiple industry sectors.

Already a leader in sheeting systems for on – highway trucks and trailers, HARSH will now be able to offer a huge range of sheet and tarpaulin solutions across I&M’s traditional business base including agriculture, general industry and retail.

Expanding its sheeting business in this way will give HARSH four big market opportunities.

First, HARSH now has the capacity to be a high volume sheeting producer, fully able to supply large orders coming from third parties such as bodybuilders and trailer manufacturers. Secondly, HARSH will now be able to deliver sheets and tarpaulins to bespoke customer requirements that can vary from a garden shed to a mobile food van to a cover for the top of a windmill (all actual examples).

Third, HARSH can now offer speedy and cost-effective repair services for every type of sheet and tarpaulin, including those already in use. And fourth, HARSH can market tarpaulins to the general industrial sector needing to cover internal factory bays and storage areas as well as full weather protection of external factory equipment and items stored outside.

Headed up by Manager Mark Britton, HARSH’s sheeting and tarpaulin activities will now be run as a separate business unit within the wider company. A new dedicated salesman for sheets and tarps will also be appointed shortly.

Of particular interest, HARSH will also be introducing a new sheets and tarps website whereby customers will be able to select and order their required specification on-line. Size, material, colour and a wide range of optional special features can all be chosen from the click of a mouse or the tap on a tablet.

As a volume supplier of sheets and tarps, HARSH also has the particular advantage of being able to stock a wide range of products in standard sizes, such as for bodies of 3 and 4 axle tipper trucks.

Commenting on HARSH’s latest development, Mark Britton says “HARSH now has the complete capability to market sheets and tarps across multiple industry sectors, not just commercial vehicles. That said, the level of our service to both truck operators and bodybuilders can only improve still further, especially in offering speedy and inexpensive repairs. I’ve no doubt at all that HARSH will quickly become recognised as the undisputed leader in this field.”

HARSH company director Adam Hargreaves adds “now more than ever HARSH is able to offer a truly comprehensive and integrated product range covering not just trucks but other industry sectors too. Looking particularly at tippers, our total  product offering is simply unique.”
