FIVE NEW TIPPERS CONTINUE MONE BROS 35 YEAR POLICY OF BUYING ONLY HARSH UNDERFLOORS
THE BEST FOR PRACTICALITY AND PRODUCTIVITY. MONE BROS CONTINUES ITS 35 YEAR POLICY OF ‘ONLY UNDERFLOORS, ONLY HARSH.’
Mone Bros, one of Yorkshire’s top tipper fleets, continues its 35 year ‘only underfloor, only HARSH’ policy on buying tipping gears with the addition of five new Scania 8x4s, four being standard tippers, the other a tipper grab.
For over three decades HARSH has been Mone Bros’ sole supplier of tipping gears, and all of those have been underfloors. Aside from the long proven benefits of their unmatched stability and safety, Director Phil Mone makes a clear case for HARSH underfloors in terms of their everyday practicality and productivity.
“A key bonus is that one man can change a ram on his own” says Phil. “The process takes less than two hours, whereas with a front end gear the entire cylinder has to come apart with the use of a crane, which effectively means the truck is off the road for most of the day.
A second benefit is that we’re using the same design of tipping gear across both our standard tippers and tipper grabs, which again makes things a lot easier for the workshop.
For us, it’s a clear ‘case proven’ that HARSH underfloors are also more stable than front end gears and really do reduce our vehicle downtime. Whilst they cost a bit more at the outset, that sum is repaid many times over during their working lives. The tipping gear is only a very small part of the price of the whole vehicle, so it makes no sense at all to have anything but the best. It’s the integrity of the whole truck that really matters most.”
Based at Morley outside Leeds, Mone Bros offers a full range of tipper – related services including sand and gravel supply, plant hire, site clearance and aggregate recycling. With its fleet is now busier than ever, the company is now considering further vehicle additions later this year.
Aside from the sheer practicality and cost-effectiveness of using HARSH underfloor tipping gears, the J100 / K110 models also offer unmatched stability when tipping. A unique design built around an exceptionally strong and rigid stabilizer frame, HARSH underfloors keep the tipped body closely locked in line with the truck chassis.
Such additional stability adds a significant safety margin in any tipping environment, which in turn reduces the likelihood of any expensive vehicle repair costs and insurance claims.
Ady Wood, the driver of Mone Bros’ new tipper grab truck, puts it like this: “Our trucks have to go anywhere and everywhere, doing every job under the sun. The HARSH kit just gives you an extra margin of safety, especially when tipping on wet, sticky or uneven ground. As a driver, HARSH gives me complete confidence in everything I do. Matched with a Scania chassis, I’m proud to have the best tipper out there!”
Jason Bramall, HARSH’s Business Development Manager for Northern England comments: “Mone Bros is the best company possible to demonstrate the real long term value of using HARSH gears. For three decades, HARSH underfloors have delivered a top-notch performance, whatever the tipper application.
Operating a medium sized fleet, Mone Bros is also the perfect example of a typical HARSH customer and hence the bedrock of our business.”
