Some Things Change - Whilst Others Remain The Same

“Since obtaining our first Harsh Gear some 16 years ago we have purchased in excess of 150 units” – says Andy Kane, Managing Director of Kane Haulage Ltd

Road Transport News reports construction specialist Kane Group has taken delivery of 11 new Volvo FM13 tippers in July 2009 for use on their heavy-duty much shifting operations. All 11 32 tonnes tippers are equipped with Harsh Stabilised Underfloor Tipping Gears.

“During that period the operations have grown into a specialist construction and haulage group, encompassing Asbestos removal, demolition, bulk excavation, remediation of contaminated land, civil engineering, recycling and aggregate sales. This growth has been achieved both organically and by the acquisition of two long established companies, GJ Gaywood Ltd and Arkoss Demolition Ltd who together have over 75 years experience of operating tipper vehicles. Both of these companies had historically operated vehicles fitted with front mounted gears, supplied by various different manufacturers. Due to the longstanding relationship between Kane and Harsh Ltd, I have continued to purchase only Harsh gears for all new vehicles, regardless of the company livery the vehicles end up being painted in. As a result the maintenance staff of all the three companies now appreciate the benefits of operating Harsh gears, both from stability and a safety point of view and extremely low lifetime cost of ownership. I sincerely believe that by specifying Harsh Underfloor tipping gears we are preventing a high proportion of roll over accidents that can easily occur with the less experienced tipper drivers that are currently available in the market place. We are also found the Harsh support service to be second to none! Based upon the proven long term benefits I am confident that we will still be specifying Harsh equipment in another 16 years time. Try Harsh now and sample the benefits yourself.” – Andy Kane
